On a very hot afternoon these two teams put on a decent show. This was the first ever meeting of these two sides and Studley’s first match back in the Premier League of the MFL for 6/7/years.
Both sides had won in the FA Cup last week and were looking to continue their winning ways.
Studley kicked off and the game although interesting there was not a lot of goal mouth action Neither side was able to dominate the game although Studley were slightly the better side but could not find the right ball in the final third.
So all square at half time and all to play for in the second half.
Studley seemed a bit more determine in the second half and started to create some half chance but found the Stone keeper equal to them.
As the game wore on and Studley looking most likely to score and indeed the deadlock was broken on the hour when after some good work down the left by Blowers his cross found Max Black in the area who found the back of the net.
This goal settled Studley and for the next 20 mins they put some nice moves together however Goodwin in the Stone goal was equal to them.
But as they started to retreat into their own half Stone began to have more of the ball although finding a resolute Studley defence and not troubling Bunn in the Studley goal.
The game finished 1 v 0 to Studley FC. Next home fixture Saturday 20th August FA CUP v Rugby Town ko 3pm.
