KIDDERMINSTER'S catastrophic season continued as they crashed to a heavy 187 run reverse against fellow strugglers Shrewsbury in Birmingham League Premier One..
George Hargrave had given Shrewsbury a solid start with the bat by scoring 67 before Kidderminster began to stem the flow of runs.
Shrewsbury skipper Lewis Evans turned matters around in style by smashing Kidderminster's bowling attack to all parts of the ground.
Evans peppered the boundary with no less than eight sixes on his way to an excellent 112 not out off just 75 balls.
The excellent Evans found a willing partner in George Garrett who added another 36 as the pair put 129 for the seventh wicket.
They helped elevate Shrewsbury's score to 298 for seven - a total that proved way beyond Kidderminster when they replied.
Once skipper Neil Pinner was removed for 57 - all hope was gone as only Zeshan Bashir on 28 managed with Pinner to reach double figures as the remaining Kidderminster batsmen collapsed as Evans came back to haunt them with the ball by mopping up the tail to take three for four off three overs.
Halesowen missed a glorious chance to close the gap on leader Knowle and Dorridge after losing to Ombersley by seven wickets.
Runs proved at a premium as Halesowen were soon in trouble with the bat by slumping to 24 for four.
Wicketkeeper Wes Griffiths then led a lower order revival.
Griffiths grabbed 27 runs, Sam Preece 26, Masihullah Quzkhill 25 and Eddie Rhodes with 18 not out helped Halesowen recover to reach 147 all out.
Ombersley made light work of their target thanks to Worcestershire's Taylor Cornall who cracked an unbeaten 89 to follow up his fine bowling figures of three for 26 as his side reached 148 for three.
Despite this defeat, Halesowen stay second in the table.
Barnt Green beat Reigning champions Smethwick by four wickets.
Accurate bowling by Andy Sutton, Adam Hines and Jack Warner reduced the champions to 59 for five at one stage before former county player Rawait Khan led a lower order recovery by scoring 55 not out.
The Green were set to chase down 194 for eight and duly achieved their objective by reaching 199 for six with 11 balls to spare.
Jacques Banton starred with the bat by scoring 91 not out off 99 balls to secure victory.
Bromsgrove must be wondering how they managed to lose out by one wicket to Bridgnorth in Birmingham League Premier Two.
Wicketkeeper Alex Milton scored an impressive 75 as bottom side Bromsgrove posted a target of 194 for nine.
Bridgnorth looked beaten in reply when reduced to 92 for eight but Jaspreet Singh and Sam Baugh had different ideas.
Singh struck a sublime 61 not out while Baugh added a further 40 as Bridgnorth staged a stunning recovery to reach a winning 200 for nine.
The result was especially tough on Ashley Newfield who had returned the excellent bowling figures of four for 27.
Himley helped themselves to a 36 run success over Lichfield to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Opening bat Ollie Westbury struck 67 as Himley set a target of 163 for eight and then removed Lichfield for 130 all out, Northamptonshire's Graeme White helping himself to figures of four for 23.
