NUMBER eight Gerrit-Jan van Velze is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering rib injury in Worcester Warriors’ 31-27 win at Leicester Tigers.

The experienced back rower was forced off just 26 minutes into the Aviva Premiership clash on Saturday and had to be replaced by David Denton.

Director of rugby Gary Gold said: “It looks as though he has broken a rib and unfortunately that is a bit of a set-back for us at the moment.

“There are a few other broken bodies out there.”

Van Velze has made 10 appearances for Warriors this season after missing almost the entire 2016/17 campaign with concussion.
