MORECAMBE FC owners Colin Goldring and Jason Whittingham have been appointed directors at Worcester Warriors.

The duo run Bond Group Investments Limited that bought the Shrimps in May with the aim of wiping out debts at the struggling League Two club.

The appointment of Goldring and Whittingham to the Warriors board comes 16 days after a consortium led by former Swindon Town chairman Jed McCrory completed a takeover of the Premiership outfit.

According to Companies House Militibus Quanco Limited, set up by McCrory, now has significant control of Warriors.

This month has seen Greg Allen, of former owners Sixways Holdings Limited, John Crabtree, Anthony Glossop, Cecil Duckworth and Gus Mackay resign as directors with Bill Bolsover remaining as chairman.

Michael Blood was appointed secretary while Goldring and Whittingham now join Bolsover and McCrory on the board.

Goldring, 34, is a lawyer from Surrey and lives in Enfield while Whittingham, 47, is a financier from Buckhurst Hill.

In June, Whittingham launched a company called Bond Group Sixways Limited that intends to buy and sell own real estate.

McCrory is understood to be delighted to welcome Goldring and Whittingham onto the board with the club planning to make a formal announcement early next week.
