GOOD morning. We are here to provide any information on incidents that might crop up throughout the rush hour period this morning on our Black Country and North Worcestershire roads.

So far the roads across the area are pretty quiet but a fatal crash - in which one person has died - involving a car and two lorries on the M6 between J5 and J6 has caused lanes to be closed in both directions.

Two lanes are closed and there is stationary traffic heading southbound. Travel time is around 95 minutes with the congestion up to J10 (Wolverhampton).

While all lanes are closed heading northbound with a diversion in operation - via the A452 and A47 through Castle Bromwich, B4137 Cuckoo Rd and them the A5127 Lichfield Rd to re-join the M6 at Spaghetti Junction. Travel time is at least 90 minutes with congestion to J4, M42 (Coleshill).

There are also areas of planned roadworks which are causing delays, these include: temporary traffic lights in Cookley on A449 Wolverhampton Road at Castle Road, until February 5, while delays are also expected on A38 Birmingham Road in Catshill, by The Marlbrook, between Golden Cross Lane / Braces Lane and Woodrow Lane, until February 12.

Delays are also being caused in Quarry Bank due to roadworks on A4100 High Street between Victoria Road and Merry Hill. The work is taking place there to improve traffic lights and bus shelters in a bid to ease congestion around the Merry Hill shopping centre until June 30.

Temporary traffic lights on Birchfield Road in Redditch, at Foxlydiate Lane outside The Old Post Office are also causing delays, while one lane closed on the A4123 New Birmingham Road in Tividale between Trafalgar Road and Hill Road / Regent Road due to the building of a new cycle path.
