BONFIRE preparations at Himley Hall are hotting up with an appeal for pallets for the huge flaming centrepiece.

Dudley Council is urging businesses to play their part by donating unbroken wooden pallets for the bonfire taking place on Saturday November 6, which thousands are expected to flock to.

Councillor David Stanley, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The fireworks and bonfire display at Himley Hall is the largest council run display in the country.

“We always need the help and support of local businesses in donating the pallets.

“It really is a community built bonfire.”

The council can only accept pallets and is unable to take any garden rubbish or old furniture.

Companies wanting to pass on pallets, who are able to deliver them to the grounds, can call Himley Hall and Park on 01384 817817.
