A DUDLEY fish and chip shop has won big in a national awards.

Crispy Cod Fish & Chips on Bradford Road has been named Fish & Chips Bar of the Year by the English Chippie Awards.

Owner and manager Rupinder Sandhu said he was delighted to win the award.

Highly Commended for the Fish & Chips Bar of the Year went to Wright's Fish & Chips in Manchester.

Mr Chippy in Northampton took home the honour of Fish & Chip Shop of the Year.

The English Chippy Awards are run as an online campaign and celebrate the excellence and rich heritage that goes into the art of crafting fish and chips.

A Spokesperson for awards said: “These awards acknowledge the fish and chip shops that go above and beyond, providing outstanding dining experiences in addition to their fantastic food."
