FEBRUARY is upon us, meaning it is officially the season of love and experts from the hospitality industry have revealed the top 100 most romantic restaurants to try this Valentine’s Day.

Curated by OpenTable, the list examined diner reviews and metrics to determine the top romantic restaurants across the country from the Scottish Highlands right down to Devon.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, restaurants in London dominated the list, making up a whopping 39 of the total 100.

Despite being home to a myriad of award-winning, top-rated restaurants, the West Midlands only had three features on OpenTable’s romantic list, with none from the Black Country, Worcestershire or the wider region.

However, despite our region’s small amount of recognition, the three restaurants that made the cut represent the region well, with OpenTable saying “sparks are guaranteed to fly” when dining there.

If you are in need of some Valentine’s Day inspiration, why not try one of the following:

Bank Birmingham, Brindley Place

OpenTable rating: 4.3 out of 5

Described by OpenTable as being “Situated within the cosmopolitan surroundings of Brindley Place”, Bank is a sophisticated, atmospheric high end brasserie serving classic and inspired seasonal cooking, brilliant cocktails and amazing steaks.

The restaurant features two all-weather outdoor dining terraces, meaning guests can enjoy their evening inside or out, come rain or shine.

In its description, OpenTable went as far as to say “Whenever and wherever you decide to dine at Bank, we guarantee that you will enjoy fantastic food and service, every single time you visit.”

Opheem, Birmingham City Centre

OpenTable rating: 4.9 out of 5

This award-winning Indian fine dining restaurant has been establishing itself as a must-visit destination in the city’s food scene.

Described as “innovative” and “good for special occasions”, it is easy to see why this made the most romantic list.

In their description, OpenTable said: “When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind.

“We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern.”

Piccolino Birmingham, Brindley Place

OpenTable rating: 4.4 our of 5

A second feature for the canal-side foodie spot, Brindley Place, Piccolino is described by OpenTable as being “one of Birmingham’s best Italian restaurants’, despite being a chain.

With an open kitchen, year-round outside terrace and chic cocktail bar, Piccolino sounds like a place made to help sparks fly.

In Piccolino’s description, it says: “At Piccolino, passion for provenance is at the forefront of our menu, which incorporates the best and freshest seasonal produce, Italian cheeses, meat, and seafood, all de
