A MAN has sustained "potentially serious injuries" after a two-car crash near a supermarket in Netherton.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Halesowen Road and Cole Street by the Aldi supermarket shortly after 7pm last night (June 11) after a car had landed on its roof following the collision.
Crews found two patients, including a man, believed to be the driver of one of the cars involved, who was treated for potentially serious injuries on scene before being conveyed to hospital.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a two vehicle RTC at the junction of Cole Street and Halesowen Road in Netherton at 7.10pm and sent an ambulance and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found two patients. The first, a man and the driver of one car, was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital under emergency driving conditions.
"A woman was also assessed and discharged at the scene with self-care advice.”
West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service were also on scene.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called at 7.13pm to reports of a crash at the junction of Cole Street and Halesowen Road.
"Two cars were involved in the crash and two appliances were dispatched to the scene.
"There were two confirmed casualties. Crews left by 8.10pm."
West Midlands Police has been contacted for further information.
