A POPULAR 90s rock band is set to perform in Birmingham but with the addition of a special guest.
Alternative rock favourites The Lemonheads are heading to Birmingham as part of a UK tour later this year, with acclaimed singer-songwriter Willy Mason joining them as a special guest.
The band will be bringing their first UK tour in several years to the city following the release of their new album 'Love Chant.'
Led by frontman Evan Dando, the Birmingham date is one of 10 shows across the UK and will see the band perform material from the new record alongside fan favourites.
Evan said: “I’m really looking forward to be back in the UK in the fall for this cool run of Lemonheads UK dates. And I’m so happy that the great Willy Mason will be on tour with us.
"He’s an incredible artist who has inspired me for a long time now. See you there, come say Hi.”
The tour marks their first studio album of original material in almost 20 years, making the Birmingham show a major moment for long-time fans.
Joining them on the night will be Willy Mason, the American folk and indie-rock artist known for his 'stripped-back sound and socially reflective songwriting.'
Willy, whose music has drawn comparisons to Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, will appear as a special guest throughout the tour.
Willy said: “We’re tuning up our resonances to hit the road with the Lemonheads in our most fertile form. We’re on a mission to move molecules and make them boogie.
"Can’t wait it’s gonna be a hoot.”
Formed in Boston in 1986, The Lemonheads rose to prominence in the early 1990s with a string of critically acclaimed albums and hits including Into Your Arms.
Their latest album, Love Chant, released in 2025, has been praised as a confident and melodic return from one of alternative rock’s most distinctive voices.
They will be performing at the O2 institute on October 10.
Tickets for the Birmingham show are on sale now and available via the band’s official website.
