A pub is set to expand its outdoor space after receiving planning approval.

Dudley Council has granted permission for a new rear canopy at the White Lion Inn's dining area in Sedgley, along with an enlarged beer garden.

The plans include a simple timber canopy with a flat felt roof, supported by timber posts.

An existing hardstanding area near the main car park will be converted into a landscaped section within the existing beer garden.

A report by planners states: "The proposed canopy would be a simple construction which would adjoin existing modern extensions to the rear of the building.

"It would be contained within the beer garden and would not appear prominent or incongruous given its scale and siting.

"Likewise, the proposed new area of landscaping and replacement close boarded fencing would be modest and proportionate."

This new garden space will be enclosed with two-metre-high close-boarded fencing.

The White Lion is located at 104 Bilston Street, Sedgley.

The application lists The White Lion as the applicant, with HPC Design Ltd as agent.
