A FIRE-cooking festival is coming to Birmingham this summer.
The award-winning Smoke and Fire Festival will debut at the Birmingham NEC as part of BBC Gardeners’ World Live and the Good Food Show Summer, taking place from June 18 to 21.
It will bring together some of the biggest names in live-fire cooking for four days of food and flavour.
Among those appearing are Chef Colter Peck from Austin, Texas, Wayne Smith of Daddy Bear Grills, and ex-Le Manoir chef Kuba Winkowski.
Designed as a fully-realised barbeque and outdoor living space, the show’s new dedicated feature: the Smoke & Fire Zone spans themed specialist areas including, the Smoke & Fire Show Garden: Eat, Heat, Retreat, BBQ Alley; Monolith BBQ School; and the Ember Artisan Market.
Visitors can explore grills and smokers, enjoy hands-on cooking sessions and shop for specialist outdoor cooking equipment.
The show garden will include outdoor kitchens, wood-fired saunas and hot tub retreats.
The Monolith BBQ School will offer bookable, guided sessions led by pitmasters and butchers, covering everything from meat selection to live-fire cooking methods.
Ashley Peniston-Bird, founder and organiser of the Smoke and Fire Festival, said: "We’re incredibly proud to be working with BBC Gardeners’ World Live, showing that gardens are great places to gather, cook and spend real time together.
"Cooking over fire brings people closer, and we hope visitors leave the Smoke and Fire Zone feeling inspired and confident to light the grill and start using their garden as an extension of their home."
General admission tickets include entry to both BBC Gardeners’ World Live and the Good Food Show Summer, with additional tickets required for specific theatre and workshop experiences.
The event will also feature talks and demonstrations from experts including Monty Don, Adam Frost, Frances Tophill, James Martin and Si King.
More information and tickets are available from the BBC Gardeners’ World Live and the Good Food Show websites.
