COMEDY legends Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise will be celebrated in Brierley Hill this autumn with a stage show marking their joint centenary year.
Eric and Ern, starring Olivier Award-nominated duo Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens, is coming to Brierley Hill Civic on Thursday, November 5, at 7.30pm as part of a national autumn/winter tour.
The production pays tribute to the much-loved double act, whose 100th birthdays fall in 2025 and 2026, with a show packed full of classic Morecambe and Wise material.
Audiences can expect lovingly recreated versions of famous sketches and routines, from Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Mr Memory’s 'Arsenal!' gag, to musical numbers and the duo’s trademark banter – complete with a special guest in true Christmas special style.
Producers say the family-friendly show, suitable for ages eight and above, aims to recapture the era when whole households gathered around the television for the pair’s festive specials.
Eric and Ern is created by Ashpitel and Stephens, based on the writing of Eddie Braben, and is presented by The Production Garden in association with Cube Room Productions.
Tickets and further details are available from the Brierley Hill Civic website.
