Dudley Pride is coming to town this weekend.

Tia Kofi, who rose to fame on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, will headline the event on Saturday, July 18.

Hosted in Stone Street Square, the free event runs from 1pm to 8pm and includes a full afternoon of entertainment, food, and activities.

Councillor Pete Lowe, Mayor of Dudley, said: "Our Dudley Pride aims to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere which is inclusive for people of all ages and backgrounds.

"Pride events continue to raise awareness of inclusivity and visibility of our LGBTQ+ community across all aspects of our lives."

The event will begin with a set by DJ Porky under the main marquee and will feature performances from drag queen Trixie Lee and DJ James Wommersly of Word of Mouth events.

Returning favourites from last year include Karl M with Best of the Boybands, Bedazzle from Priory House, and WMYT West Midlands Youth Theatre.

Temper Tantrum, a queer, riot girrrl band, will also perform.

The day will conclude with the headline set from Tia Kofi.

More than 30 stalls will fill the square, offering crafts, food, facepainting, glitter tattoos, and street entertainers.

Gary Hough, of sponsor Haystoun, said: "We're delighted to support Dudley Pride and what has become a great event for the town.

"It's a chance for people to come together, enjoy themselves and celebrate the diverse community that makes Dudley what it is.

"A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make the day a success, and we'd like to thank the organisers, volunteers and everyone involved.

"We're pleased to play a small part and hope everyone has a fantastic day."
