THREE boys have been recognised as Young Community Champions after a litter-picking effort on Oldbury High Street.
Ethan, Ellian, and Kodie, all aged 11, approached PC Sophie Peacock and asked her questions about policing.
PC Peacock showed the boys a police vehicle and spoke to them about the different sirens and our fleet.
The boys then went on to clean up the high street, returning to PC Peacock with bags of litter.
PC Peacock said: "Ethan, Ellian and Kodie were so inquisitive and even asked if they could have some equipment to clean up the high street to make it nicer for their community.
"The boys were so inspiring and not only highlighted the amazing potential of Sandwell’s youth but also the level of care and kindness that we should all aim to match."
Their efforts were formally recognised with a Young Community Champions certificate.
