COLLEAGUES from Lloyds Bank’s Black Country, Shropshire and Staffordshire SME team have raised £11,670 for Mary Stevens Hospice after completing a sponsored walk from Birmingham to Wolverhampton.
The group covered 13.5 miles on June 17, with the total made up of public donations and match funding from Lloyds Bank.
The money will support specialist end-of-life care provided by the Stourbridge hospice for patients and their families across the Black Country.
The team chose Mary Stevens Hospice as its charity of the year after a colleague’s close family member received care there.
Mark Meakin, Lloyds Bank’s manager of commercial banking coverage, thanked customers, colleagues and contacts for their support.
He said: “Every contribution will help the hospice continue providing vital care and support to those who need it most.”
Rob Taylor, Lloyds Bank’s relationship manager of commercial banking coverage said the cause held personal significance for his family.
"My family have experienced first-hand this year the wonderful care you provide, having looked after my sister-in-law, Andrea, for 12 weeks.
"Nothing was ever too much trouble, and I'll be forever thankful for the support you gave her husband and my niece and nephew."
