Sky customers can now save £70 a year - but only if they switch this one thing
Millions of TV viewers could be paying for the same streaming service twice - and not even realise it.
From today, Sky customers will get HBO Max Basic with Ads included in their subscription, and Hayu in July.
But some may not realise they can already get Disney+ included in their TV subscription - a move that could save households up to £5.99 a month.
But there’s a catch: you only save if you actively switch how you’re billed.
The simple trick that could cut your bill instantly
If you already pay for Disney+ separately, you can move your subscription onto Sky instead.
All you need to do is:
- Sign in to Disney+ through your Sky device (Sky Glass, Stream or Q) or via sky.com
- Use the same email address as your existing Disney+ account
Once done:
- Your subscription will be billed through Sky
- You keep your profiles and watch history
- Your old Disney+ payment will stop (or be refunded if paid annually)
That’s an instant saving of £70+ a year for many households.
The mistake costing people money
Many customers won’t benefit automatically.
If you:
- Pay Disney+ directly → it should pause or refund automatically
- Pay via a third party (like an app store or bundle) → you must cancel manually
If you don’t cancel, you could end up paying twice.
